Defence Supplier Readiness
Understand where your company stands before entering the defence supply chain.
Nordtier helps manufacturing SMEs understand their organisational readiness across six capability domains before entering defence supply chains.
Why readiness matters
Strong manufacturing capability is not the same as demonstrated defence supplier readiness.
Defence-related supply chains can introduce additional expectations depending on the customer, programme, and your role. Nordtier assesses organisational readiness, not whether you already supply defence customers or hold specific certificates.
Six readiness domains
Quality Readiness
Operational quality management, non-conformities, corrective action, and evidence of consistent practice.
Assessed as Quality Readiness. Whether quality-management processes work in practice, including operational quality control, non-conformities, corrective action, and evidence of consistent implementation.Manufacturing & Delivery Readiness
Controlled production, capacity, lead time, skills, and realistic delivery commitments.
Assessed as Manufacturing & Delivery Readiness. Whether the company can manufacture and deliver reliably: controlled instructions, equipment, acceptance criteria, capacity, lead time, skills, and emerging delivery risks.Documentation, Configuration & Traceability
Drawings, revisions, change control, and contract-ready traceability records.
Assessed as Documentation, Configuration & Traceability Readiness. Ability to manage drawings, specifications, instructions, revisions, product and process changes, and the records needed for customer-specified traceability.Information & Cyber Security Readiness
Sensitive information handling, access control, secure sharing, and incident response.
Assessed as Information & Cyber Security Readiness. Ability to identify sensitive information, restrict access, store and share securely, protect systems and backups, and respond to security incidents.Requirements & Compliance Readiness
Identifying and reviewing applicable requirements before commitments, without assuming prior defence licences or clearances.
Assessed as Requirements & Compliance Readiness. Whether the company has a repeatable way to identify, assign, escalate and review legal, export-control, security and customer requirements before making commitments. Nordtier does not determine which laws or licences apply to a specific contract.Supply Chain & Business Resilience
Critical suppliers, verification of purchased outputs, dependencies, and recovery arrangements.
Assessed as Supply Chain & Business Resilience. Critical supplier identification and monitoring, purchased-output verification, requirement flow-down, operational dependencies, and response and recovery arrangements.
